Mutual Elementary School PTA Membership is easy and low cost, but MOST IMPORTANTLY your membership shows your support for our school, our students, and our staff!! Please help us reach our 100% membership goal by JOINING our PTA!
Our Membership dues are $6 each or 2 for $10. We encourage ALL parents/guardians and even extended family members to join and show your support for our worthwhile programs that help our school!
Our Fall Membership Drive is held every Sep – Oct and includes a ‘Back To School’ contest with gift card drawings for those who join.
We also hold a Membership Class Contest in November! The class that has the greatest percent of family members who join the PTA will win a pizza party!
- Print and complete the PTA Membership Form.
- Include cash or check (payable to Mutual Elementary School PTA) in an envelope labeled “PTA Membership.”
- A membership card will be sent home with your child once our Membership committee processes your form.
So why become a member?
Your membership fee shows your commitment to the National, Maryland, and Mutual Elementary PTA. The most important reason is because children love when we’re involved their lives!
What do my membership fees cover?
The majority of the fee is divided between our National and State dues ($2.25 – National PTA & $2.00 – State PTA). A small portion of your dues (approximately 50 – 60 CENTS) helps to fund the administrative costs of the MES PTA like paper/staples for the many flyers we send home.
If I become a member does that mean I have to volunteer at school?
No, you are not required to volunteer if you are a PTA member. Of course, we welcome everyone that would like to volunteer.
I cannot volunteer at school but I would like to help, what are my options and do I need to be a member?
You are not required to be a PTA member to help out. There are many ways to volunteer from home or at school. We may need supplies cut out or constructed, baked goods prepared, paper collated, help with special events, or just phone calls made. All help for our school is appreciated.
If I become a member does that mean I have to go to meetings?
You are not required to attend the General Membership meetings, but we encourage parents and staff to attend. You will receive up to date information at the meetings and also vote on budget decisions. Parents are also welcome to attend executive board meetings, however, only board members may vote at these monthly executive board meeting.
If I am NOT a member, should I go to the general membership meetings?
We encourage and invite ALL parents/guardians to attend our general meetings to stay informed on our progress in supporting our students. Only PTA members may vote on budget or other issues.
Can I become a member at anytime?
Yes, although we typically run our membership drive from September through November, you can join at anytime by completing a membership form and sending in your dues payment.
I volunteer, but am not a member. May I attend the volunteer appreciation breakfast or gathering?
We welcome everyone and anyone that helps out at Mutual. You do NOT have to be a PTA member to participate in any of our volunteer appreciation events.
